Hey Bob!

Just thought i'd make a quick page to keep everything in one place and make it easier to explain everything track by track. Before we go on, these demos are rough as! so apologies for the quality so when you come down hopefully you can get a better picture.

Our Sound references:
This live session just kicks arse and i love the kit and guitar sound.
Again, 'close up' drum sounds awesome on this. Extra low end on the guitar is ace!
Is there a better drummer than the grohlmeister? The drums are panned on this one but the almost dry drums could work great  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-8H3gE9dUo
Another obvious choice of drum sound  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFAnn2j4iB0
fucking love the guitar sound on this track  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MXZ7V7N4o4
Another splendid reference, bass is a little too loud on this for my liking though  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=augnadG8muE

Fall Asleep - Creepy and gentle verses with a beefy explosion on the chorus with harmonies. Song concept: About being oblivious to the world around you and in your own head. Not caring about your environment because the dreamland in your head is distracting.
Procrastinator/Masturbator (not final track names): Balls to the wall from start to finish with a slow down 'Sludge' riff for the outro. Song Concept: Procrastinating and being enraged with your own laziness and viewing yourself from afar and thinking what the fuck am i doing? but you keep on putting things off.
Miasma: Slighty driven guitar for the verse, white stripesy chorus (not even i know what that means). We think this one feels unfinished, it needs another section to give it that umph. Song Concept: Coming out of a 'funk' and not giving  fuck about anyones opinions or advice on how to live life. Most advice parental or other, is lost in todays apathetic, technological time.
Svengali: EQ over fuzz on the verse, full on chorus. Chorus and structure could be tightened up. Song Concept: Feeling like your choices and decisions are predetermined by your environment and your upbringing. The fear of becoming a puppet to someones malicious intent.
Positivity Sucks: This one really is quite poppy for our style. Has a slight weezer/feeder feel to it. Its meant to be a perfect, predictable pop song that people will sing along to, oblivious to the idea that that was the whole point in the first place. If we get it right it could be a great idea. If not we could come across as pretentious. Thoughts?
Interlude: An interlude to go in the middle, very quiet. Will probably be performed on acoustic guitar. Some odd percussion instruments could go nicely with this. Reference: Muse - Screenager  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXcLL4Dptsw TRIVIA TIME! The percussion sounds on this track are actually real human bones. The interlude will then blend into you're always right. Could change. The interlude ends on A and You're always right starts on A, it just seemed fitting.
You're Always Right: We thought we didnt do this song justice when recording it so would like to put it on this record :). Song Concept: a story of someone who suffers from mental illness but is oblivious to it.
You're Late: This one is still unfinished any help on this one would be great! Song Concept: Still in the works
Constellations: Dissonant guitar chords in the verse building up to 'its so not fair' could do with a better outro?
Deftonesy one: Could have potential, drags on too long at the moment. Will shorten and make it a little more interesting to the ear. Drowned in chorus pedal for this one.
Final Notes: We still have some production to do on our end so things may be added/ structure tightened up. Hope you like it!
